In July 2022 I was engaged by the Cultural Facilities Corporation (CFC) to attract a new audience to Canberra Museum and Art Gallery (CMAG) with an after-dark ’80s-themed party to coincide with the Back to the Boombox exhibition. As the event manager, I worked with the CFC and CMAG team to develop the online ticketing and promotion, created a site plan and decoration, run sheet, food and beverages, budget, weekly updates and action items, public land use and temporary traffic management plans and used my graphic design skills to develop all posters and promotional material for the event.
Local artist Tom Buck was commissioned to create a big boombox for the event, and it created an extravagant backdrop for Project Beats Dance Studio freestyle dance battle arena. I pulled out the Fuji and captured some of the energy of the night.
